Megan Harrison, RYT-500
Megan was introduced to Mindful Turtle and the practice of yoga in 2012 as she reclaimed her health after challenges with fibromyalgia. Noticing how asana, pranayama, and meditation aided in alleviating physical and psychological symptoms of her condition, she sought out further knowledge. With the encouragement of Danielle Goldstein, Megan became involved with the Mysore Ashtanga program and enrolled in The Hard & the Soft Yoga Institute with Beryl Bender Birch, receiving her 500 hour teacher certification in Classical Ashtanga Yoga.
With deep humility and gratitude for all of her teachers, Megan continues her studies at Mindful Turtle with Danielle and Ashtanga Montauk with Christine Hoar.
Megan’s teachings of Ashtanga Yoga and the Ashtanga Vinyasa system at the studio and at Maryhaven Center of Hope draw upon her life experiences and over a decade’s work as a direct support professional for adults with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, gently reminding all students that the practice is accessible to anyone and everyone, and all that is required is to simply be.
