Karma Yoga
Along with the committment to a lifestyle devoted to the development of the mind, body and spirit, comes the important responsibility to give back to the community and make a positive difference in the lives of others. Mindful Turtle Yoga & Wellness is very proud to support The Morgan Center, a local preschool for children with cancer.
- There are close to 200 children under the age of 5 diagnosed with cancer each year in the NY metropolitan area
- Children on chemotherapy have a suppressed immune system and cannot socialize with other children due to the risk of infections
- These children need a pre-kindergarten learning foundation and a sense of normalcy, as well as a distraction from treatment and pain
The Morgan Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to providing preschool age children who are undergoing treatment for cancer the opportunity to interact and socialize, in a safe environment that stimultes cognitive and social development. Children on chemotherapy treatment have a suppressed immune system, and could otherwise risk infection and serious illness by attending typical age appropriate preschool programs.
