Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is an efficient, direct way to empower individuals to take their state of health into their own hands. Yoga was originally taught and learned in this way, and still is at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, the world's foremost Yoga Therapy Center. In a personalized, one-on-one setting, the teacher works with the student to assess their unique needs. The teacher then tailors a yoga practice which the student does at home, on a daily basis.

The frequency of classes begins once weekly for about a month, then decreases to every couple of weeks, finally tapering off to once per month meetings. The importance of the continued relationship cannot be underestimated, as yoga is meant to be learned with a teacher.

The great yoga master T Krishnamacharya defines yoga as "surgery without the instruments". Yoga tools are extremely powerful, and when understood deeply, will catalyze and sustain amazing transformation within the human system. The process of Yoga Therapy requires that students be aware of and open to this powerful reality.
